May 16, 2008 (newstodate): The heads of air navigation services of Kazakhstan, Russia, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan are gathered in Almaty, Kazakhstan, for a two-day review on national air navigation systems.
They form the Eurasia International coordination council, set up in 1999 with the aim of optimising cooperation, planning of air traffic and formation of a joint policy in modernization of equipment.
Among the topics on the agenda of this meeting are issues of reduced vertical separation, enhanced communication systems to share information, and full compliance with international air traffic standards.
