May 22, 2008 (newstodate): After several delays, Boeing is expected to schedule the first flight of the 787 Dreamliner in October, 2008.
According to the revised plans, the aircraft manufacturer will deliver 25 Dreamliners in Q3, 2009, if the test flights and the certification process are completed in time.
Original plans called for 120 aircraft to be delivered by then.
The first carrier to operate the Boeing 787 will be Japan's ANA that has placed firm orders for 50 aircraft, and holds another 50 options.
