May 14, 2008 (newstodate): In 2007, Copenhagen Airport saw its total cargo volumes up by 4.1 percent, to 395,506 tonnes, securing its undisputed position as the largest cargo airport in the Nordic region.
The growth in volumes, however, receded in the last four months of the year, with declines by 6,6 and 14.3 percent in November and December, 2007, respectively.
The bulk of the airport's cargo volumes is transfer cargo, 283,034 tonnes in 2007. This segment remained almost unchanged against 2006, rising only 0.7 percent in 2007.
The growth was primarily secured by an increase in exports, up 21.1 percent to 61,318 tonnes, while imports grew moderately by 5.8 percent to 51,153 tonnes.
