May 7, 2008 (newstodate): Aeroflot Cargo has confirmed the timetable for deliveries of its new IL-96-400T freighters.
The first aircraft will be delivered during July, with the second to follow during August, and the third to arrive in December, 2008.
The aircraft will be introduced on freighter routes inside Russia as well as on certain international routes, including cargo flights to India.
The aircraft will lift up to a maximum of 92 tonnes of cargo on routes spanning 5,500 km.
Aeroflot Cargo has ordered a total of six units, with the last deliveries to be completed by 2010.
In contrast to the IL-96-400T deliveries, Aeroflot Cargo is seeing more problems with its MD-11F aircraft that are still not certified by the Russian authorities and stand idle on the tarmac.
