Apr 9, 2008 (newstodate): The WOW air cargo alliance, set up in 2000 amidst great fanfare, seems to have reached a dead end.
-WOW did not fulfil the expectations of the founders, and customers did not see and accept the advantages, says Nils Haupt, Lufthansa Cargo VP Corporate Communications.
-WOW will continue to exist - although no more new common activities can be expected.
-Lufthansa Cargo has instead decided to concentrate on Lufthansa Cargo Group, comprising capacity providers like Lufthansa Cargo, Jade Cargo International, Swiss WorldCargo, Lufthansa Cargo Charter Agency and cargo counts - and find potential synergies within this cooperation, says Mr Haupt.
WOW Cargo Alliance members include Lufthansa Cargo, SAS Cargo, Singapore Airlines Cargo and JAL Cargo.
