Ukraine has decided on a plan till 2020 for development of the country's airports, entailing a division between state and non-state ownership assets.
Thus, the state will take ownership of and invest in airport runways, basic infrastructure, security, economics and management, while all passenger- and traffic-related issues including terminals may rest with private or non-state owners.
The 24 airports identified for a return to state ownership are Donets, Kiev Zhulyany, Odessa, Simferopol, Kharkov, Vinnitsa, Ivano Frankivsk, Kirovograd, Nikolayev, Lugansk, Poltava, Rovno, Sumy, Ternopol, Uzhgorod, Kherson, Khmelnitskiy, Chernovtsy, Cherkassy, Izmail, Mariupol, Kerch, Krivoy Rog and Severodonetsk
