Apr 23, 2008 (newstodate): Russian airport Tolmachevo, at Novosibirsk, has embarked on a project to expand the existing passenger terminal.
As the airport's international traffic by Russian and foreign airlines is growing, the airport will need more space and facilities to handle its international passengers.
Designed by ADPI, the terminal will be expanded to a capacity of handling a doubling of today's passenger volumes, reaching more then 650,000 by 2011, against the current capacity of handling 450 passengers per hour.
On December 10, Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport opened its new multimodal cargo centre with a capacoty of handling up to 150,000 tonnes of cargo per year.
