Apr 9, 2008 (newstodate): The Russian airline conglomerate AiRUnion is working hard to obtian its own AOC before the end of April already.
AiRUnion, comprising KrasAir, Domodedovo Airlines, Samara Airlines, Omskavia and Sibaviatrans, operates a fleet of 90 aircraft including four 757-200, four 767-200/-300 and six 737 aircraft, and competes intensely with Aeroflot on domestic and international routes.
With an own AOC the merger process between the consitutent members will accelerate, and AiRUnion aims at a future membership of Star Alliance.
