Apr 23, 2008 (newstodate): Russia's ministry of transport has announced plans to develop Sochi International Airport.
In the plans is the contruction of a new cargo terminal, financed by the Russian investment group, Bazel.
The ministry also confirmed that the extension by 510 m of the airport's 2,200 m runway will be completed by 2010, while the airport will be finally certified by 2012 to meet all ICAO requirements of an international airport, in time for the 2014 winter OL.
