Apr 29, 2008 (newstodate): Russia and Ukraine have now reportedly confirmed plans to revive production of a new version of the AN-124 Ruslan freighter from 2008.
The decision has long been expected, but is now confirmed following a meeting of the economic co-operation committee of the Russia-Ukrainian intergovernmental commission.
Volga-Dnepr has earlier announced that it will take 12 AN-124, and Polyot has said it will take five aircraft.
The planned new AN-124-100M-150 will have the capacity to lift up to 150 tonnes of cargo over a range of 5,400 km without weight penalty.
