Apr 21, 2008 (newstodate): Aeroflot Cargos German GSSA Transnautic Aero is upbeat about potentials for the new Aeroflot Cargo service from Germany, via Moscow, to Almaty, Kazakhstan.
-We expect huge volumes of cargo on this new service, particularly electrical and electronic equipment, automotive spares and textiles, says Hendrik Boeyng, Transnautic director.
-There is also significant available traffic for Astana, following the relocation of Lufthansa Cargo's hub from Astana to Krasnoyarsk, he says.
It may, however, be a bit premature to build on Lufthansa Cargo's move of operations.
At Lufthansa Cargo, the company spokesman, Nils Haupt, confirms that Lufthansa Cargo will remain at Astana until Krasnoyarsk Airport has been upgraded to ICAO's CAT II standard, which has still not been accomplished.
