Apr 15, 2008 (newstodate): The Icelandic aircraft lease company Avion Aircraft Trading reports brisk business in 2008.
-Avion Trading has recently sold our eight B777F aircraft to Aerologic, the new JV of DHL and Lufthansa Cargo, says Hafthor Hafsteinsson, Avion Aircraft Trading chairman.
-We have furthermore acquired three SAAB 340 cargo aircraft from Siemens Capital in Sweden to be operated by our airline in Vilnius, Avion Express.
-Finally, we bought two B747-400 aircraft from China Airlines to be converted this summer with IAI in Israel, and are now in talks with potential cargo operator lessees, says Mr Hafsteinsson.
