Apr 14, 2008 (newstodate): Icelandair's cancellation of its order for four Airbus A330-200F freighters, due to arrive in 2010/2011, came as a surprise to aircraft leasing company Avion Trading.
-It was very disappointing for us and Airbus because we signed the LOI in May last year and we have been working on the details and final documentation until three weeks ago - and there was no sign of Icelandair Group walking away from the transaction. Now I wonder where does that leave Icelandair Cargo and their plans for the future, says Hafthor Hafsteinsson, Avion Aircraft Trading chairman.
-Anyway, we will move on and revisit those who are interested in the A330F, so we are not too worried about not being able to place them because we believe we have a great product at economical prices to offer.
-However, it takes time and effort to be successful placing them, admits Mr Hafsteinsson.
