Apr 22, 2008 (newstodate): Sweden may get online with Japan in the form of a route between Stockholm Arlanda and Tokyo Haneda International Airport.
At a meeting in Tokyo between Sweden's minister of trade and Japan's vice minister of trade, the Swedish minster was told that the significant trade between the two markets could advance Sweden to the top of a list of 30+ countries seeking traffic rights to operate to Tokyo.
Traffic between Sweden and Japan might be opened after the completion of the ongoing construction work at Haneda of a fourth runway, slated to become operational by 2010 and expanding the traffic volume from today's 285,000 movements to 407,000 annual movements.
The Tokyo Haneda Airport is also to open a new third passenger terminal for international traffic by December, 2009.
