Apr 7, 2008 (newstodate): Estonia's Tallinn Airport continued its strong growth in cargo during March 2008.
Total volumes grew by no less than 249 percent, to 3,456 tonnes.
Behind the growth was a sustained increase in imports, constituting 96.7 percent and originating in China, destined for Russia.
The airfreight import thus grew by 203 percent to 2,971 tonnes, while exports were up 36.4 percent to 110 tonnes.
For the period January-March 2008, the airport saw its total volumes up by 238 percent to 8,908 tonnes of which 7,594 tonnes were imports on freighter charters.
