Apr 21, 2008 (newstodate): In 2008, Sweden's Gothenburg Landvetter Airport is seeing its cargo volumes dramatically down, especially driven by a decline in import volumes.
In March total volumes declined by 28 percent, to 4,572 tonnes, including imports, down 33 percent to 2,217 tonnes, and exports, down 22 percent to 2,355 tonnes.
During this year's Q1, the decline in volumes handled at the airport was 23 percent, to 12,407 tonnes, including 6,250 tonnes of imports, down 28 percent, and 6,177 tonnes of exports, down 17 percent.
Gothenburg Landvetter Airport ended last year with a total of 60,167 tonnes of cargo, an increase by five percent, y-o-y, including a decline in imports by five percent, and a growth in exports by 16 percent.
