Apr 11, 2008 (newstodate): Early in 2009, the Eastline Group that manages Moscow Domodedovo Airport will start construction of a new passenger terminal.
Terminal 2 will adjoin the existing building of the passenger terminal from the current international flights sector side and will be dedicated to serving international flights.
Also part of the project is the construction of a boarding gallery with 19 air bridges, aircraft parking stands as well as relevant infrastructure with road junctions.
The project is conceived in three stages, with the first stage starting in 2009 and planned to go operational by 2011 with an annual through-put capacity of 4-5 mio passengers.
Phase 2, planned to be completed by 2015, will further boost capacity to 8-9 mio passengers, while Phase 3, due in 2019, will expand capacity to 14-15 mio passengers per year.
