Apr 17, 2008 (newstodate): Construction work has now started on a new Romanian international airport at Brasov.
The Canadian company Intelcan Technosystems Inc. that emerged as the winner of the auction for the Brasov-Ghimbav Airport construction will be the majority shareholder of the company, and also manage the Brasov-Ghimbav International Airport, holding 64.3 percent of the shares.
The new airport will have 2,800 m runway and a terminal designed for accomodating one mio passengers in the initial stage.
In the first phase, the construction period will be 24-30 months.
