Apr 8, 2008 (newstodate): Boeing has told investors to await a new update on Wednesday on the progress of the 787 Dreamliner program.
Expectations are that Boeing will confirm what the market has known for some time already, namely that the program will suffer a third delay for a further six or nine months.
This would mean the EIS to be pushed back some 18 months against the original plans.
First delivery would thus be late 2009, and rather than the 109 Dreamliner aircraft planned for delivery before the end of 2009, the eventual figure will probably not exceed 40, provided no further delays are encountered.
