Apr 14, 2008 (newstodate): Belgian ground and cargo handling group Aviapartner has identified Scandinavia as an important growth market for cargo handling operations.
Without further specification, Aviapartner's new ceo Peter Oosterenk told the Belgian trade press that new acquisitions are to be finalised this year already.
In Scandinavia both SAS Cargo's handling company Spirit and the Danish Cargo Center Billund are in the market for sale or partnership.
In 2007 the group acquired Dutch Aero Groundhandling, boosting its annual volume by 48.8 percent to 1,448 mio tonnes, of which 434,000 were accounted for by Aero Groundhandling.
