Apr 30, 2008 (newstodate): The Austrian construction company Strabag has been selected to manage the modernisation of Russia's Sochi Adler Airport.
Strabag will work in cooperation with the Russian building company Renaissance Construction, and the construction works are expected to be completed by Spring 2009.
In November, 2006, the Russian government completed the privatisation of Sochi Adler Airport, with a Russian billionaire Oleg Deripaska emerigng as the new owner of the airport.
A new passenger terminal will be constructed by the airport owner, and the airport's two runways of 2,890 and 2,200 m and other primary infrastructure, remaining under the Russian state's responsibility, will be upgraded.
