Apr 10, 2008 (newstodate): In March, 2008, Finnair continued its sustained increase in cargo volumes, noting a 15.1 percent increase in total volumes to 9,160 tonnes.
The single largest driver remained the Asian traffic where loads increased by 38.8 percent to 6,210 tonnes.
The only other positive growth segment was the North Atlantic traffic that increased by 3.1 percent to 579 tonnes.
Cargo on scheduled charter traffic was down 57.7 percent to 313 tonnes.
In January-March, 2008, the overall cargo growth was 15.9 percent, to a total of 25,167 tonnes, again solely driven by the Asian traffic where volumes increased by 36.1 percent to 16,470 tonnes.
