Apr 4, 2008 (newstodate): Following on the aborted attempts by Air France KLM to take over the ailing Alitalia, Aeroflot may reportedly again be considered a viable option.
Aeroflot early aired its interest in Alitalia, and placed a bid already in May, 2007, but withdrew from the tender in June, 2007, alledgedly because it could not obtain critical information on Alitalia's commercial and operational business.
If the Italian government is now forced to lower the fence in a last-ditch attempt to save the airline from bankruptcy, Aeroflot may reconsider the issue, sources say.
