Mar 25, 2008 (newstodate): Ukraine International Airlines has announced a plan to upgrade its passenger aircraft fleet with up to 30 new aircraft over the next 6-7 years.
As a first step, the carrier has placed orders with Boeing for delivery of four new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Two aircraft will be delivered in 2009, followed by another two by 2010.
The carrier is also in talks woth Boeing and Airbus over delivery of some 30 new aircraft over the coming years.
Ukraine International Airlines currently operates 15 Boeing 737 aircraft and is adding another B737-400 passenger aircraft and a B737-300 Freighter this year.
