Mar 18, 2008 (newstodate): Kazakhstan's Almaty Airport will get a fresh direct nonstop connection to London from May 1, 2008.
From that date, bmi will operate three weekly flights between London Heathrow Aiprort and Almaty, using Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
The new service will compete with Air Astana that launched its flights to London in December, 2003, also using Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
bmi earlier provided flights to Astana via Yekaterinburg, Russia.
