Mar 28, 2008 (newstodate): In 2007, Russia's transport sector experienced strong over-all growth, with air cargo taking the lead.
According to Russia's First Deputy Prime Minister Sergei Ivanov, Russia's air cargo volumes were up by 20 percent, y-o-y.
-This shows that as far as cargo transport by air goes, the market is still big and there is still a lot of room for development, he said.
-We recognise that so far, development in this sector has used intensive methods, that is, we have made maximum use of the infrastructure that for the most part was built during the Soviet period, said Mr Ivanov.
