Mar 31, 2008 (newstodate): Menzies Aviation is continuing its investments in the Nordic region's ground handling industy by acquiring Novia's ground handling companies at Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda and Gothenburg Landvetter airports.
The acquisition, carrying a 8,75 mio euro price tag, is subject to local regulatory clearance which is expected to take 30 days.
In August, 2006, Menzies Aviation made its first acquisition in Scandinavia, buying the entire stock in the Swedish Malmo Air Cargo, followed, in September, 2007, by the acquisition of Finnair's ground handling operator Northport's activities in Sweden and Norway, at Stockholm Arlanda and Oslo Gardermoen airports.
After the sale of its activities in Stockholm Arlanda and Gothenburg Landvetter, Novia will focus on its remaining ground handling businesses at Copenhagen Airport and Malmo Sturup, Sweden.
