Mar 17, 2008 (newstodate): Effective from April 1, 2008, the Latvian carrier airBaltic will launch nonstop flights from Riga to the Moldovan capital city of Chisinau.
airBaltic, based at Riga Airport, launched flights from Vilnius to Chisinau in September 2007, and that was the first of several routes from Vilnius to destinations to Eastern Europe.
The new route from Riga to Chisinau will be operated thrice-weekly with Fokker F50 aircraft.
