Mar 18, 2008 (newstodate): Iceland's Keflavik Airport reported a 7.16 percent drop in cargo and mail volumes in February.
In total the airport handled 4,494 tonnes of cargo and mail, including 2,736 tonnes of exports, down 0.85 percent, and 1,758 tonnes of imports, down 17.39 percent, y-o-y.
For the two first months of 2008, totals were down 9.48 percent, to 9,027 tonnes.
Totals included 5,230 tonnes of exports, down 8.85 percent, and 3,797 tonnes of imports, down 10.32 percent.
The airport's statistics are not easily compared to the statistics provided by the Iceland carrier Icelandair Cargo.
For the first two months, Iceland Cargo also saw exports down, by 18.1 percent, while the carrier recorded imports increasing by 13 percent.
