Mar 13, 2008 (newstodate): Effective from March 31, 2008, Cathay Pacific Cargo will consolidate its position in the Swedish market by setting up an own sales organisation in Stockholm.
The carrier launched twice-weekly Boeing 747-400F operations between Stockholm Arlanda and Hong Kong via Dubai on September 17, 2007, with the SAS Cargo-owned Cubic Air Cargo as its GSA for Scandinavia, Finland and the Baltic countries.
Cathay now takes over own sales and marketing in Sweden, Finland and the Baltics, while Cubic Air Cargo remains its cargo GSA in Denmark and Norway.
In 2007 Hong Kong ranked #15 on IATA's top-30 list of export air cargo destinations from Sweden, with a total of 2,316 tonnes, down 7.8 percent, y-o-y.
