Mar 19, 2008 (newstodate): Suspended since October, 2006, air traffic between Russia and Georgia will now be resumed from March 25, 2008.
As a precondition for signatures to a new air services agreement between the two countries, Georgia has pledged to start paying off its airnav debts to Russia.
Under the new agreement, a toal of 20 weekly flights will be performed between the two countries, evenly split between Russian and Georgian carriers.
