Mar 10, 2008 (newstodate): Finnair has reported a 17 percent increase in its cargo volumes through February, to a total of 7,988 tonnes.
The sustained growth remains driven by the carrier's Asian loads, up 35 percent to 5,215 tonnes.
European loads increased by 4.7 percent to 1,709 tonnes, and volumes on the North Atlantic routes were up 4.3 percent to 465 tonnes.
Scheduled cargo charter tonnes dropped 43,4 percent to a total of 311 tonnes.
In the first two months of 2008, Finnair's total cargo volumes increased by 16.4 percent to 16,007 tonnes, including 10,269 tonnes of cargo on the Asian routes, an increase by 34.6 percent.
Lifting the Asian volumes are now also the flights to Mumbai and Delhi in India.
