Feb 21, 2008 (newstodate): The WFS Denmark terminal at Copenhagen Airport reports sound figures for 2007, its first full year of operation.
The cargo terminal handled a total of 48,584 tonnes of cargo in 2007, including 27,712 tonnes of export shipments, 5,491 tonnes of imports destined for Copenhagen, and 15,381 tonnes of transfer shipments.
-We are quite satisfied with volumes in our first full year of operation, and there is still room for growth before we hit the terminal's production ceiling at 60,000 tonnes per year, says Thomas Petersen, WFS Denmark station manager.
The WFS terminal started operations on May 2, 2006, with Delta Air Lines, Continental Airlines, KLM Cargo, Air France Cargo, Air China, Alitalia Cargo Leisure Cargo, Norwegian, British Airways World Cargo among its customer in the first year, followed by Korean Air Cargo and Turkish Airlines in 2007.
WFS initially budgetted with 10,000 tonnes of cargo handled in 2006, and 40,000 tonnes in 2007.
