Feb 4, 2008 (newstodate): Preliminary figures on air cargo in 2007 at Stockholm Arlanda Airport indicate a significant increase in volumes.
While final figures are yet to be confirmed, the airport expects to see a 18.6 percent growth in 2007, to a total of 169,458 tonnes.
Some 55 percent of the shipments were exports, while the remaining 45 percent were imports, an airport official confirms.
The ratio of flown/trucked cargo was 62/38 percent.
After a bleak performance in air cargo, Stockholm Arlanda succeded in landing new freighter services during the latter part of 2006 by Korean Air Cargo, Cathay Pacific Airlines, and China Airlines, followed in 2007 by Jade Cargo as well.
