Feb 5, 2008 (newstodate): In 2007, Russia's Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport saw its cargo and mail volumes up by 14.6 percent.
Total volumes handled were 18,500 tonnes.
On December 10, 2007, the airport officially opened its new multimodal cargo centre with a capacity of handling up to 150,000 tonnes of cargo annually, and providing facilities for handling of general cargo, VAL, diplomatic cargo, dangerous goods, and temperature-sensitive cargo.
Behind the masterplan for the airport modernisation is the German consultancy firm Obermeyer Planen + Beraten.
