Feb 27, 2008 (newstodate): At Russia's Moscow Vnukovo Airport, construction works are progressing fast in numerous projects.
Construction of the first stage of a new passenger terminal is to be completed by November, 2008, and construction of a new 57,000 sq m cargo and mail terminal is also to be completed in 2008.
Also close to finishing are a new modernised ATC tower and the airport's renovated second runway.
In 2007 the airport handled nearly seven million passengers, up 32.7 percent, y-o-y, as well as 22,767 tonnes of cargo and mail, an increase by 12.5 percent over 2006.
