Feb 7, 2008 (newstodate): The Lithuanian carrier flyLAL is determined to fight back on competitors in its home market.
flyLAL will double its passenger volumes in 2008, increase frequencies on many existing route, and open new destination.
The carrier will also double its fleet of aircraft from currently eight to 16 units, including four SAAB and 10 Boeing 737 and two Boeing 757.
flyLAL will increase its intake from neighbouring countries Latvia and Estonia by more feeder traffic to and from Riga and Tallinn, aiming at turning Vilnius into a Baltic hub for traffic to western and eastern Europe as well as Central Asia.
