Feb 11, 2008 (newstodate): Lithuanian carrier Avion Express plans to introduce freighter services from April 2008.
-The airline currently operates three SAAB 340F, and we expect to increase this number to up to seven in the near future, says Mr Aloysas Knipas, Avion Express operations manager.
-We will operate both charter and scheduled flights, and the destinations are currently being negotiated.
Among the viable options are flights between Hamburg and Palanga, Lithuania, sources say.
Formerly named Nordic Solutions, the company was taken over by the Icelandic Avion Group when the owners of Nordic Solutions that provided in-night logistics went bankrupt.
Avion Express currently provide passenger flights in Finland.
