Feb 28, 2008 (newstodate): UAE carrier Etihad Airways, based at Abu Dhabi, has announced plans to expand its route network to comprise Russia and Kazakhstan.
In 2008, the carrier will start operating flights to Moscow, Russia, and Almaty, Kazakhstan, sources say.
Etihad's fleet currently consists of 39 aircraft, including five Boeing 777-300ER, one Boeing 767-300ER, nine Airbus A340 and 17 Airbus A330.
The carrier has also placed orders for four Airbus A380-800, with deliveries to start from 2013.
