Feb 4, 2008 (newstodate): Bulgaria's Sofia municipal transport commission has initiated a debate on a future relocation of Sofia International Airport.
The debate is spurred by considerations of the environmental impact of the current flight operations on Sofia, as well as problems with flight operations under conditions of fog and low visibility.
The debate includes evaluation of various options for a new locality, but no decision on a future move has yet been made.
