Feb 27, 2008 (newstodate): On February 26, 2008, Budapest Ferihegy Airport saw the first flight on a new route between Budapest and Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Aer Lingus now operates the route three times weekly with Airbus A320 aircraft as the first-ever scheduled flight to the capital of Northern Ireland from Budapest Airport.
Budapest already has flights to London, Bristol, East Midlands, Liverpool, Manchester and Glasgow in the UK.
In the first year Aer Lingus will pay no landing fee at Budapest at all. In the second and third years it will enjoy a discount of 50 and 25 percent, respectively, as part of the promotion scheme to attract new routes.
