Feb 5, 2008 (newstodate): Nine months into its financial year beginning April 2007, British Airways World Cargo has managed to stem the decline in commercial revenue - flown revenue plus fuel surcharges.
The company's commercial revenue during the period dropped "only" 0.9 percent, y-o-y, against a fall by 5.3 percent during the first six months of the financial year.
Cargo capacity, measured in available tonne kilometres, declined by 2.4 percent compared to the same period last year, although volumes were up by 1.6 percent to 3,667 million cargo tonne kilometres.
The overall yield decreased by 2.4 percent excluding exchange effects.
