Feb 14, 2008 (newstodate): Austrian Airlines is planning the return of flights to Erbil from April 2, 2008.
The carrier will operate three weekly flights between Vienna and Erbil, Kurdish Iraq, from April, increasing to four weekly services from June.
As the second European airline to obtain traffic rights for flights to Erbil, Austrian Airlines introduced services on the route on December 11, 2006, but operations were suspended from August 24, 2007, after a decline in the security situation around the airport.
