Feb 29, 2008 (newstodate): Boeing has delivered its 1,400th 747, a 747-400 Freighter delivered to GECAS for lease to AirBridgeCargo Airlines, a subsidiary of the Volga-Dnepr Group.
The aircraft is the seventh 747 freighter in the AirBridgeCargo Airlines fleet, joining five 747-200/-300 Freighters and a 747-400 Freighter.
The Volga-Dnepr Group also has ordered five of Boeing's new 747-8 Freighters.
The lateset aircraft will replace an earlier generation 747-200 aircraft which has now left ABC Airlines' fleet.
In 2007, AirBridgeCargo launched domestic services in Russia and future route expansion in 2008 will include 747F operations to Montreal, Chicago and Houston.
