Dec 4, 2008 (newstodate): UK carrier Eastern Airways has acquired two SAAB 2000 aircraft on a lease contract with SAAB Aircraft Leasing.
The aircraft were formerly operated by a Lithuanian carrier and by Air Express Sweden, respectively.
The first aircraft was delivered on December 3 and the second will follow on December 15, 2008, bring Eastern Airways' fleet of SAAB 2000 aircraft to eight.
With a cruising speed of 425mph from its two Rolls Royce engines, the Saab 2000 is one of the fastest turbo-prop aircraft in the world and is also extremely fuel-efficient.
