Dec 18, 2008 (newstodate): The world financial crisis has forced St Petersburg's city government to delay the tender for reconstruction and management of Russia's Pulkovo Airport.
Plans were that proposals from bidders in the tender should be in by February, 2009, but this deadline has now been extended till mid-May, 2009.
The tender authority will then need another month to evaluate the proposals delivered, before a winner can be declared.
The winner will land a 30-year concession to reconstruct and manage the airport, and among the conditions is a clause requiring that participants must not be engaged in other airports with a range of 800 km from Pulkovo.
