Dec 10, 2008 (newstodate): With a first commercial flight on December 5, 2008, the new Russian airline Nordwind Airlines has launched business under the slogan "Red and Strong".
Operating from Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, Nordwind Airlines now serves its routes with two Boeing 757-200 aircraft, and plans to add a third aircraft before the end of this year with a fourth to follow by the end of March, 2009.
The carrier will operate as a charter airline in the passenger and cargo business with flights from Moscow to Europe, Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, India, and the United Arab Emirates.
Behind Nordwind Airlines are Pegas-Turistik travel operator and Turkey's Pegasus.
