Dec 23, 2008 (newstodate): New cargo GSSA and service provider in Iceland is Cargo Express.
The company was officially established on December 1, 2008, with the LCC Iceland Express as it launch customer.
Managed by Robert Tomasson, formerly Icelandair Cargo Director Sales and Marketing, Cargo Express has set up two offices - one at Reykjavik City and another at Keflavik Airport.
-Iceland Express is a dynamic low cost carrier with flights to many European destinations. In 2009 we plan to expand our business further by airline representation and other cargo-related services, says Mr Tomasson.
-Being an island, Iceland's only trade links are either by sea or air. Given the relatively long transit time by sea, air cargo will continue to play a strong role in international trade for Iceland.
-Cargo Express has the long term strategy of developing a full range cargo service for airlines and express companies wanting to develop their competitive edge on the Icelandic market, says Mr Tomasson.
