Dec 18, 2008 (newstodate): Moscow Domodedovo Airport is pursuing its plans for construction of new cargo facilities, including a cargo village.
-Plans for the construction of the cargo village have been accepted, and their implementation has now been initiated, says an airport spokesperson.
-Two plots of land have been issued for the first and second phases of construction, and about 30,000 sq m warehouse space and office complexes will be built. Also included in the plans is the construction of a dedicated freighter aircraft ramp.
In 2007, Moscow International Airport Domodedovo handled 133,662 tonnes of cargo, up 5.8 percent, y-o-y.
