Dec 17, 2008 (newstodate): New Macedonian cargo carrier Star Airline is seeing early success since its launch in November, 2008.
The carrier has now added its second Boeing 747-200F freighter, taken on a lease agreement with Air Atlanta Icelandic.
Star Airlines, based at Skopje Airport, was set up in March, 2008 and received its AOC on September 26, 2008, becoming Macedonia's first cargo airline.
Behind the airline, headed by Kani Kurtulus as CEO, is the Turkish company Orex Air cargo with 49 percent of the stake.
Since November, the carrier's first Boeing 747-200F freighter has been operating weekly on a route from Istanbul to Almaty, Hong Kong, Sharjah and Lagos.
